Neighbourliness in action.
We exist to support neighbours experiencing vulnerability, through practical care, shared understanding, and pathways toward stability.
Because vulnerability is not an identity — it’s a circumstance.
Who We Are
A community built on dignity and shared responsibility
Be A Neighbour is a nonprofit rooted in a simple belief, that care belongs to all of us. We support neighbours experiencing hardship through practical action, meaningful connection, and long-term pathways toward stability.
Our work is grounded in dignity. We see people as people first not problems to be solved. And we believe that how we show up for one another defines the kind of community we live in.

Our Mission
To provide practical support, build empathy, and create sustainable pathways out of vulnerability for neighbours experiencing hardship in our communities.
Our Vision
A society where no one is dehumanized by their circumstances, and where neighbours actively support one another with compassion and dignity.
Why We Exist
Changing how we understand vulnerability
Too often, vulnerability is misunderstood.
People are reduced to their circumstances, whether it’s homelessness, addiction, or instability instead of being seen as individuals with stories, dignity, and potential.
We exist to challenge that. To shift the narrative from judgment to understanding. Because anyone, at any time, can be a neighbour who needs support or a neighbour who shows up.

What We Stand For
The values that guide
how we show up
Dignity
We see neighbours as people first, never as problems to be fixed.
Empathy
We listen and seek to understand before we act or respond.
Community Responsibility
We believe care is a shared responsibility, and everyone has a role in supporting one another.
Sustainability
We believe care is a shared responsibility, and everyone has a role in supporting one another.
Integrity
We act with honesty, transparency, and respect in everything we do.
Be part of a community that chooses dignity, and action.
Stronger communities startwith how we show up for each other.
